independence day fireworks!

and so, with TNT in our hands, we headed out to create some sparks!

we headed out to another city to do it - didn't want to risk doing anything on our home-turf. :P

we were scared (or maybe just me) - cos we really didn't know whether it was permitted. plus, we were going to go to some empty field to "light up". what if we were caught for trespassing or whatsoever? or what if our fireworks caught fire somewhere? -- the kiasee singaporean in us made us jittery... but then it also made this whole adventure more exciting. :P

and then it happened! SPARKS! erh... it wasn't quite what we expected - had thought it will shoot sky high but apparently the ones we bought were just small ones that will only shoot shoulder-level high...

darn... but now we know. :D next year independence day, we'll get bigger and better ones! hehehe....

sidenote: we found out later that night that california actually has a law against setting off fireworks in certain cities - mountain view was one of them. *phew* thank goodness we decided to run far far away to do this. found out from this site that the nearest approved city could be at gilroy. hehe... will take note of this for next year. :P
