an early birthday celebration

it'll be the first time we'll be apart during my birthday... :( but for me to not miss out on the celebration, dearie held an advance party for me on the 10th. he went to yelp out "romantic dinner" and found Aldo Los Altos which received superb reviews from yelpers... which thankfully did not disappoint!

we had the baccala (beer battered cod, homemade potato chops, rosemary, saffron mayo) and the rigatoni del bosco (tube pasta, italian sausage, mushrooms and peas, tomato cream sauce). THEY WERE FANTASTIC! we finished EVERYTHING, right to the very last drop of sauce on the plate. yummy!

given that dinner was so good, we decided to try their dessert. ordered the salame di cioccolato (chocolate ganache, amaretti, roast hazelnut loaf, sliced and served with fresh whipped cream). it was oh-my-god-so-nice-yet-so-sinful... :P we left feeling so satisfied and so full...

but that's not the end! dearie bought me an ice-cream cake - mudpie ice cream cake from safeway. it was as it's name said - mochalicious!
